Kabul on August 13nd
Hazara people witnessed another violence for the second time from the police side that caused to hurt and, even lose their several young people such as an 18 year old boy. According to the article of Rostakhez mentioning that the 13nd of August was a shock for the Hazaras’ Nation that showed its face in a country such Afghanistan. The Police who are supposed to protect the civil rights and democracy attacked the innocent people, even in the capital, but the blames were put on candidates of parliament. The people who were having their victim on their shoulders to interment, and the people who moved to inform the citizens of Kabul from the mortal attack of Polices were the victims of armies’ bullets. The main issue that made the people start demonstrating on the streets of Kabul was the matter of Nomads. According to the Tolo News, “the incident happened when the people who claim themselves Nomads clashed with the residents of west of Kabul over the land ownership in Omid-e-Sabz town, Darullaman Road. This town is owned by the brother of vice president of Afghanistan, Karim Khalili”. (ToloNews)
But, the demonstration of 13nd of August against the government of Afghanistan left several questions for Afghan and foreigners. What could be the root of the tragic happening that took the lives of several people in the west of Kabul? Giving a sacrifice of an 18 year young boy by the name of Amir Dad who was shot by Police officers, as witnesses said, was the first step of this demonstration, but what made the people angrier was the clashing of people with the government armies because of tearing the pictures of candidate, breaking the windows and being shot directly by police officers.
According to the personal interview with a parliament senator, Muhammad Qasim Ebrahim, he said:” the demonstration of 13nd of August wasn’t including only the families of victims and other Hazaras but also some other people who were using this opportunity by the name of Hazara in destroying and looting shops. He added: “If they were only the people of Hazaras, then such an incident wouldn’t happen.”
He added: “Behind the destructions of the demonstration of the 13nd of August some high government officials’ hands had interfered, otherwise the Hazaras wouldn’t destroy the shops and the wealth of their own people”. According to the survey about the interference of other sources, 80 per cent of people have upheld that some other people, especially government officials have interfered in this demonstration that caused the innocent people to be the victims and to devote their young sons.
Most importantly, some Afghan news sources also have announced about the interference of high government officials. The land mafia and other high ranking government officials also interfered in the issue, because they have bought lands in the Omid-e-Sabz town, and there are also some reports about the government authorities and political factions who allegedly add fuel to the fire to get privileges. (ToloNews)
Are the rivals of Hazaras the real nomads who claim themselves the owner of lands? According to the personal interview with the Senator Ibrahim Qasimi, he said: “if the rivals of Hazaras are the real Afghan Nomads, then they wouldn’t start making their houses. Because, the Nomads have never needed to build a house living.”
Actually, from the definition of Nomads sound, it shows that Nomads will never need to live in a specific area constantly in this situation of Afghanistan. According to the definition of Demotix web news, it defines: “the Kochi’s are a nomadic community that travels across Afghanistan spending their winters in Pakistan and their summers in Afghanistan.” It added: “The Nomads community has a very distinctive culture; most Nomads have unique tattoos and fashioned that has even spread over to the west. They carry most of their belongings on decorated camels, donkeys or horses”. (Demotixnews)
Above all, giving a specific area and lands for Afghan Nomads by the Government of Afghanistan will prevent such violence for the second time in Kabul and, it will also prevent dissension between the two ethnics of Afghanistan, Pashtoons and Hazaras.
In a personal interview with one of the Hazaras writer, Haji Kazim Yazdani, he said: “the government should give the Nomads a specific area of a country to build houses and animals husbandries”. He says: “Nomadic is harm for both, the Government and the Afghan people because when the crops of farm lands grow the nomads start going there and use the Hazaras outturns and destroy the farm lands which the Hazaras had attempted to find something for their lives continuation.”
His suggestion to the government of Afghanistan is to give lands to the nomads. He says: “giving lands to the Afghan Nomads wouldn’t make any difference on their nomadic lives, because the nomads are able to continue their animals husbandries and live properly by cultivating crops in a specific area.”
